Construction students at Blackburn University Centre gave final presentations of the work they have been doing as part of a Live Project on Lord Street West.
After weeks of historical research, surveying, mapping, designing, model making and costing the students have produced some really great work. They’ve uncovered some fascinating architectural and social history and come up with truly innovative ideas for the restoration and reuse of the buildings on Lord Street West.
Hopefully, we’ll be able use some of these ideas to inform the restoration schemes we’ll develop as part of the Townscape Heritage Project.
The Live Project will contribute to the students final year assessments and has provided them with valuable work experience on historic buildings. We’ll be showcasing their work at an exhibition later in the year.
Well done everyone!
